Hexacomb introduces 'whiter and brighter' Falconboard for eye popping graphics

Hexacomb has announced 'whiter, brighter facings' for its Falconboard Print paper-based graphic display board.  The upgraded Falconboard Print is available in Europe and provides an even better surface to help communicate brand messaging.

Falconboard has a CIE whiteness rating of 110 (in accordance with ISO 11475) and a brightness of 83% (in accordance with ISO 2470). The whiter and brighter facings offer improved colour contrast which provides the ideal surface for eye-popping graphics.

“We listened to our customers’ needs and made changes to our Falconboard Print display board. We incorporated a whiter substrate with a smoother printing surface while still maintaining Falconboard’s structural rigidity and cutting ease,” said Antoinette Woldring, sales and marketing manager, Hexacomb. “The new, whiter board minimises the need for white ink laydown - and in some cases, may even eliminate it.  This provides additional cost and performance benefits.”

Ideally suited for digital and screen printing applications such as signage, point-of-purchase and trade show displays, new Falconboard Print is made from renewable resources (a minimum of 20% recycled fiber content).  In addition to the white facings, Falconboard’s proprietary manufacturing process incorporates an engineered paper core and water-based adhesives.

Falconboard’s resistance to bending or warping offers a superior alternative to printed corrugated alternatives where increased display life and three-dimensional stability is a requirement.

The display board accommodates most inks and adhesives, as well as commercial connective systems such as edge tape and plastic or metal edging/channels.  It is lightweight and heat-resistant up to 80 degrees Celsius.  The tough core resists denting and its durable construction is scratch and warp resistant. Printing capabilities include a variety of wide formats and digital processes.

The product line is offered in three standard thicknesses: 6-, 10- and 18 mm.  Standard sheet sizes are 1200 x 2440, 1220 x 2440 and 1400 x 3050 mm. Custom sizes also are available.
