GPT's Open Day event marked by new product sales and UK firsts

The GPT Open Day event is the launch pad for a number of firsts for the wide format industry.

Whilst there are numerous solutions on display, four solutions in particular stand out:

  • Canon’s iPF9400S is being shown for the first time in the UK at the event.  This model replaces the Canon iPF9000S machine and is 20% faster than its predecessor.  Using Lucia EX inks, the colour gamut is wider than ever and the resulting output has excellent scratch resistance.  It now includes a brand new 4 pass mode and is capable of printing a glossy A0 size print in 3.2 minutes
  • Epson’s full range of SureColor machines are also on show together for the first time in the UK.  The three printer models offer a total of 5 set up options and range in price from £11,995 to £19,195.  GPT has a number of payment plans on offer to help interested parties purchase these machines.
  • GPT is also showing its unique Mimaki JV34-190 machine. GPT has used its technical know-how to adapt the Mimaki TS34-180 water-based textile printer to output over 35 square metres per hour using full organic solvent inks.
  • The Agfa Anapurna Mw is the final ‘stand out’ solution on show at the Open Day event.  This 1580mm wide, 6 colour with white machine is capable of printing onto materials up to 50mm thick and is currently on offer for an unprecedented £49,995.  Again, finance options are available.

Other solutions on show include Kala’s Arkane laminator, the full range of Mimaki printers and a number of textile print solutions.  Representatives from Agfa, Canon, Epson, Hybrid Services (Mimaki’s exclusive UK and Ireland distributor) and Wasatch are also on hand alongside GPT’s staff to offer advice.

As at noon on the opening day of the event, a number of sales have already been made, including a Mimaki JV33-160 to Mercedes.  Mark Sales, Graphics Team Leader at Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team attended the event and purchased the machine to replace an aging JV3-250.  The new machine will be used to create a wide variety of graphics for the F1 team including posters, signage and vehicle graphics

The Open Day event is taking place at the company’s Reading premises on 16th, 17th and 18th October 2012 between 10am and 5pm.
