Mimaki's JV400-130/160LX printer 'attracted huge interest' at FESPA 2012

Mimaki says that its newly launched JV400-130/160LX printer attracted huge interest at FESPA Digital 2012.  The innovative system supports six colours plus white with environmentally-friendly latex ink. It offers the flexibility of solvent printing with the durability of UV-cured inks, at speeds of up to 18 square metres per hour.

“We suspected the white ink element would prove popular, as we developed it in direct response to customers’ feedback,” says Mike Horsten, Marketing Manager at Mimaki. “The show was a massive success â€" we’re delighted with the impressive sales.”

Mimaki also highlighted the JV400-130/160SUV, which prints in four colours (CMYK).

FESPA Digital 2012 also marked the European debut for Mimaki’s new TS34-1800A Sublimation Transfer Inkjet Printer. The system has been specifically designed for the sublimation transfer market.

The company also showcased a range of UV flatbed products, including the JFX-1631plus, the UJF-3042FX, and the recently launched UJF-3042HG, which is capable of printing on substrates up to 150 mm thick.

Tony Cleppe, owner of Belgium-based Avora Lettering Oostende, was impressed with the Mimaki portfolio.  “We’re looking into new textile applications, so the Mimaki stand was a must-see. They talked us through all the different applications for different markets. There’s clearly a lot of opportunities here, especially using the latex and UV printing solutions.”

Mimaki also underlined its status as a responsible supplier and its broad perspective on sustainability. The company ‘adopted’ a Sumatran tiger at the Barcelona zoo, and in doing so sponsored the Mimaki Nature Education Program, an initiative that supports education of youth and children about nature and wildlife.

“Greater sustainability at every stage of the printing process is something all printers strive for,” adds Horsten. “We’re committed to helping printers achieve this goal by making our solutions as environmentally friendly as possible. Our adoption of the Sumatran tiger embodies our responsible approach.”
