Colourgen announces positive financial results

Colourgen has announced a 12.5% increase in sales revenues for its financial year ending June 2014, largely due to the rising popularity of the Mutoh ValueJet range of printers. Sales of other products, including Seiko I Infotech ColorPainters, Caldera RIPs and Kala laminators have also increased, with prospects for further growth looking very positive.

Jeff Biggs, Colourgen's Managing Director, comments, "There are plenty of reasons to be positive about the coming year. Both the Mutoh and Seiko II printers have shown very solid growth and there are some promising prospects for Seiko II around the new ColorPainter M-64S series which was launched at Fespa. These increased printer sales have also boosted associated products, such as Caldera RIPs and Kala laminators. Caldera RIP sales have also increased because we have been able to demonstrate the benefits of the performance of the RIP to end users who are looking to streamline workflows, improve productivity and save costs by reducing waste."

A highlight of the last financial year for Colourgen was the Mutoh ValueJet range. Colourgen has gained significant momentum, placing more and more ValueJet printers into production environments and seeing positive acceptance of the brand in the marketplace. The products themselves are proving to be extremely stable and reliable and are at a very competitive price point. Running costs of the Mutoh ValueJets  can also be very low thanks to the recent introduction of Mutoh's Universal Mild Solvent inks.

"Many machines are sold with high capacity cartridges or bulk ink systems that ensure minimal cost per print, particularly when compared with inks from other  printer manufacturers.  We expect solid growth for the Mutoh ValueJet range over the coming year - not only for traditional display graphics printing but also for eco-solvent and dye sublimation applications in the soft signage and textile markets," adds Biggs.

Another major positive for Colourgen last year was the re-establishing of Seiko I Infotech and the ColorPainter brand in the market place. Printer sales more than doubled over the previous year and the forecast is to continue this growth in the coming year. Jeff Biggs says, "Seiko II has number of users that are very loyal to the brand. They have been using ColorPainters since the first 64S nearly 10 years ago and they have only had good experiences and nearly always consider investing in another one. We expect this to continue, and we are also looking to drive new end users to put ColorPainters on the shopping list of printers to consider, particularly if they have a need for good production level performance and quality at a competitive price."

October should see the availability of the new Seiko II ColorPainter M Series.. This technically advanced printer offers many improvements in terms of hardware, software and firmware. It will provide unrivalled quality at  32sqmph , with odourless eco solvent inks and a minimum 3-year durability. The printer is unique in achieving very high quality at just 360x360 dpi. Biggs explains, â€Å"The M-Series delivers better quality output at 360dpi than other printers at 720 or even 900dpi. This is  achieved due to the unique and precise construction of the machine and advanced firmware that Seiko II has introduced.

Jeff Biggs concludes, "Overall we are very happy with our performance in what was another difficult year for the industry. We have a settled stable of excellent products that offer great quality, reliability and value and this is being translated into solid sales. We continue to focus on the high levels of service and support that Colourgen has built its reputation on and that has proven to be the bedrock of our business for more than 25 years."
