Super-Wide Digital expands production capabilities with Durst Rho 500R printer

Super-Wide Digital has acquired a Durst Rho 500R wide format printer and moved to larger, more modern premises near Manchester to underline its 'commitment to excellent quality, rapid turnaround and confidentiality' for its trade customers in 2013

Unique in the market for its vow never to compete with or undercut its own customers, Super-Wide's Rho 500R allows it to strengthen quality on popular wide-format applications, including flex-faces, wall coverings, building wraps and large canvases, as well as ramp up productivity on typical narrower jobs. With production speeds outputting sellable quality at up to 350sq m/hour and white ink for under- or over-printing and other effects, the company is now attracting more work from screen and litho printers, as well as its core markets of sign and graphics producers, agencies and commercial printers.

"Various printers in the market already trust us to fulfil the jobs they can't complete, either because they don't have the resources or they can't produce them with a decent margin," explains Luke Drogan, business development manager. "Our strategic investments in 2012, and those planned for this year, have the sole purpose of guaranteeing competitive trade rates for our customers while allowing them to assure top quality to their own clients across all types of job."

The new five-metre Durst Rho 500R joins four 3.2m roll-to-roll machines, one 3 x 2m flat-bed, one 3.2m dye sublimation printer and numerous smaller format printers, including HP Latex engines, at the new 35,000sq ft facility. Various finishing and laminating options are also on hand, although printed output can also be supplied for finalisation by the customer.

"Our established clients know that, no matter the job, we are always on hand to help them deliver the complex, oversized or high-volume work they need," Drogan continues. "This year will see us capitalise on these new resources with more investment in both specialists and technology. Now, we're putting the message out to the industry that we're ready for more."
