London-based Tecna Display Ltd, a manufacturer of modular display systems, has just been announced as a winner of the Queenâs Award for Enterprise in International Trade. Tecna Displayâs first Queenâs Award is the result of a 'good old-fashioned UK success story' in manufacturing: innovative design and 'the desire to get out into the world and sell'.
With less than 10 employees, Tecna Display has a turnover in excess of £1 million pounds and exports to more than 30 countries. It has recorded an overall 92% increase in overseas sales in the last 3 years and approximately 60% of its current business turnover in the highly competitive display systems marketplace comes from exports.
Tecna Display's owner, Jonathan Evitt, has over 30 years experience in the industry. He is also the designer of the t3 products. He comments, âThe last three years have been very challenging for the display and exhibitions industries. We have managed to buck the trend by developing a high quality product that stands out in the market place. The Queens Award is a huge honour and we are absolutely delighted. It recognises all the hard work that we and our distributors have put in over the last years.â
"This is a positive British business story. We design our products in-house and - by bringing all the finishing elements back to our facility in the UK - we maintain close control over the quality of manufacturing and production."
The company designs, produces and sells an advanced modular display system under the product name of t3. This is a strong, lightweight, fast and easy to build framework which, when clad in graphics, creates exhibition stands, walls and retail and POS displays. The product has been used for many high profile projects and companies worldwide including the Brit Awards and Dyson in the UK, X Factor and Nintendo in South Africa, HSBC in Australia, Nespresso in France and the Buddha Museum in Singapore.Â
The t3 product has been granted numerous International Patents and Design Registrations worldwide.
Evitt has a great deal of experience working with Chinese companies over a number of years. He has recently negotiated a sales licensing agreement with the biggest company in Chinaâs display industry and is the first company outside China to do so. He is also working with them to stop the many copies that have appeared over the last few years in China. "We're taking joint legal action with our Chinese partner company to maintain the quality perception of the t3 products. We are able to offer our UK-finished solutions at a very competitive price point and the only way they can been copied in China and sold at a lower price point is by cutting corners," concludes Evitt.Â
Tecna Display holds the ISO 9001 quality standard and sets great store on using the highest quality materials and best practise manufacturing techniques. It offers a full lifetime guarantee on all its products.
