Hollywood Monster backs the winners of the 2012 Women's FA Cup

Birmingham City Ladies football stars got 'monster' support as they prepared for one of the biggest games in their history.   The team â€" including six England internationals and eight from the GB Olympics squad â€" met Chelsea Ladies in the final of the Women’s FA Cup on Saturday (May 26) at Ashton Gate, Bristol, and won the hard-fought match on penalties!

When they ran out on to the pitch on Saturday, they were joined by the mascot of signs and graphics giant Hollywood Monster â€" the Birmingham-based company that sponsors the team’s shirts. They were cheered on by managing director Tim Andrews, and a large party from Hollywood Monster, as they battled to beat Chelsea.

Hollywood Monster has sponsored Birmingham City FC for 20 years and jumped at the chance to extend its sponsorship of the women’s team shirts for another year.   Before the match, Tim Andrews, commented, “We’re huge supporters of Blues Ladies and we’ve really enjoyed following them. They’ve got a fantastic squad and it would be great to see them win the FA Cup and go on to win the league title. Many of the players will also be representing Great Britain at the Olympics too, so it could be a really momentous year in the history of the club.”

He added, “Our company mascot will be joining them at training on Friday and then on the pitch before the final begins, so they’ll all know that Hollywood Monster and all their fans are right behind them.”

Prior to the final, Blues Ladies' star Karen Carney said, “We’re really excited at reaching the Women’s FA Cup final and determined to bring the trophy back to Birmingham. It’s already proving to be a fantastic season for the club and players and we are thrilled at all the support we’ve had. Tim and everyone at Hollywood Monster have always been right behind us and it’s support like that which is driving us on to achieve great things.”
